چکیده
The characterisation of cement paste microstructure is an important step towards understanding durability mechanisms in cementitious materials. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) a widely used technique to analyse the at micron-scale. However, it challenging, notably because characteristic size many phases found on scale smaller than EDS interaction volume. This work presents new image analysis framework identify and quantify materials from SEM-EDS hypermaps. By leveraging domain knowledge, representative points are attributed mixtures based ratio plots. Then, quantitative can be carried out (chemical composition, particle distributions, volume fractions, …). We demonstrate abilities framework, we present possible applications extensions method. available as both graphical interface Python code.

Silicone based oil is heated in the boiler of the diffusion pump and the vaporized oil rises in the central tower and streams out of directional flutes directed downward in the pump throat. This allows air molecules to dissolve in the gaseous oil (gas dissolved in gas). As the oil-air mixture cools (due to water cooling coils wrapped around the pump throat) the oil condenses and returns to liqu...
متن کاملAn SEM and EDS study of the microstructure of nitrate ester plasticized polyether propellants
To p robe the microstructures of ni trate est er pla sticized p olyether (NEPE) composite propellants and observe th e morphology of each constit ute in the propellant, the microstructure and elemental constitutes of NEPE propellants were investigated using scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The ammonium perchlorate (AP) grains had a scraggy surface and were ...

متن کاملInteractive Analysis of Terabyte-sized SEM-EDS Hyperspectral Images
Scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometry (SEM-EDS) was used to characterize a macroscopic artifact from Peru (a Moche cast figure) [1]. A 3D hyperspectral datacube was acquired over 51.2 hours, measuring 11,520 x 9,984 pixels with 2,048 energy channels per pixel; each pixel corresponds to 900 nm in the x and y dimensions. With current technology, interacting with t...
متن کاملFIB/SEM and SEM/EDS microstructural analysis of metal-ceramic and zirconia-ceramic interfaces.
Recently introduced FIB/SEM analysis in microscopy seems to provide a high-resolution characterization of the samples by 3D (FIB) cross-sectioning and (SEM) high resolution imaging. The aim of this study was to apply the FIB/SEM and SEM/EDS analysis to the interfaces of a metal-ceramic vs. two zirconia-ceramic systems. Plate samples of three different prosthetic systems were prepared in the den...
